The Secondary Education Programme at Yew Chung International School of Qingdao (YCIS Qingdao) strives to develop a solid academic ability in its students, preparing them for higher education.
Students mature in a vibrant and stimulating environment for learning and social development, enabling them to advance under a strong academic curriculum as well as a wide variety of extracurricular activities.
Designed according to the learning criteria of Key Stages 3 to 5 of the National Curriculum for England, the programme cultivates a positive learning attitude in every student and sharpens the student's critical thinking and learning abilities. Incorporating both Western and Eastern cultures, students experience a truly multicultural learning environment where linguistic skills in both English and Chinese are honed as they develop a deep understanding of and respect for cultural diversity.
At Key Stage 4 (Years 10 to 11), students study for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) programme, recognised internationally for shaping a student's problem-solving, investigative, independent and co-operative working skills. At Key Stage 5 (Years 12 to 13), students pursue the YCIS International Curriculum which gives students access to the world's leading universities.
