Years 12-13 Programme

At YCIS Qingdao we provide the world-renowned A Level programme and incorporate other key components to allow continued running of the YCIS all-round education.

The Cambridge International A Level curriculum is a worldwide international course leading to examinations for 17- to18-year-olds. It typically takes two years to complete and offers a flexible course of study that gives students the freedom to select the subjects that are right for them. A Level courses are highly specialised and a student will normally take three subjects to final A Level external examinations. Core subjects such as English, Mathematics, Science, Chinese plus Humanities are available.

International AS Level examination is typically taken at the mid-point of an A Level programme at the end of Year 12 to increase the breadth in the curriculum and allow students to complement other subjects they are studying.

Years 12-13 students may also join the YCIS Diploma programme, which would be awarded in the final year upon completion in areas of achievement and study. Years 12-13 students continue the path of character education, sports, development of extended essay writing and seek opportunities for leadership roles and community service. We provide regular university preparation support and guidance.
