First Week Back
Though summer holidays are many students’ favourite time of the year, returning to school in August is also very exciting. Pulling backpacks from closets, shopping for stationery and restocking pencil cases with new supplies remind us of the great memories from previous years and fill us with excitement towards making new memories.
New Student Orientation Day
Each August, YCIS Qingdao holds a New Student Orientation Day in order to help new students to better transition into the first days of class. All new families are invited to come to campus, join an information session, pick up their school uniform and meet with their teachers. This helps both parents and students to feel better prepared and less nervous when starting their first day of class.
Mrs Jillian Petersen, from South Africa, teaches in the Primary School at YCIS Qingdao. She has been a teacher for the last 13 years. Mrs Petersen is looking forward to moving to Qingdao with her family.
