Years 5 and 6 Mini-Olympics and Sleepover
On November 17 and 18, Years 5 and 6 had our annual sleepover. This year it was a two-day event. On Thursday we held a Mini-Olympics, and Friday we held a Brain Olympics.
Journeys in Reading during Annual Book Week
From October 31 to November 4, YCIS Qingdao held its annual Book Week. The running theme of the week was journeys. The students looked at how the art of reading and writing is a journey in itself, as well as the journeys, metaphorical or otherwise, protagonists embark on in fiction.
Seeds of Hope Trip to Qufu
From October 24–27, Year 9, 10 and 12 students went on a four-hour road trip to a school in Qufu to educate the children on the importance of protecting our planet. This trip was led by the Year 12 IB students as their diploma Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) project.
YCIS Qingdao Teacher Ranks Top in Foreign Teacher Talent Competition
YCIS Qingdao’s Lisa Bruno was selected as the first place winner and best foreign educator of all schools in Qingdao in a Foreign Teacher Talent Competition.
Founders Day Celebrates 84 Years
This Founder’s Day, we celebrated the 84th anniversary of Yew Chung. To make this day a truly memorable experience for students and staff, YCIS Qingdao offered a full range of special events and activities.
Yonsei University Visit
On Wednesday October 12, Yew Chung International School of Qingdao welcomed Yonsei University to its Huangdao campus. This was a unique occasion, being the first time a Korean university visited the school.

A New Year in ECE
The new year has gotten off to a great start in our YCIS Qingdao ECE class. With a newly renovated and expanded classroom, children now have more space than ever to grow and learn.
