To kick off the holiday season this year, the YCIS Qingdao student choir was invited to perform on Friday, November 29th at the Hilton Golden Beach Hotel’s Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony.

This year’s choir is made up of 24 YCIS Qingdao talented students ranging from Year 4 to Year 6. They showed their calmness and talent to perform in front of a big audience who were delighted to a variety of famous Christmas carols, including Rudolf the Red-nosed Reindeer, Silent Night, and 12 Days of Christmas.

After a welcome speech from our Co-Principals, Mr. O’ Connor and Ms. Ma, the countdown to light up the gigantic Christmas tree began. Guests were invited to taste some tasty appetisers and a large chocolate Christmas Log Cake baked by the hotel’s chef.

This wonderful evening saw our school community coming together to celebrate our students’ talents, our cultural diversity, and help students develop into compassionate and responsible individual which is the core purpose of YCIS education – character education. It is not just about charity but about educating students through different and exciting projects.
