We are delighted to share with you the outcomes of this year’s IGCSE examinations. Results, while important, are never the whole story - they are signs of learning, of students making sense of knowledge, building skills, and shaping who they are becoming. What matters most is that these results reflect growth: in persistence, in curiosity, and in the confidence to tackle challenging ideas.

This year, our students demonstrated exactly that.

In several subjects, every student reached the golden standard of A*–C, well above international averages:

    • Art and Design

    • Mathematics Extended

    • Foreign Language Chinese

    • Physics Extended

In other subjects, every student achieved at least an A*–B, an extraordinary benchmark of learning:

    • Coordinated Sciences (Double Award)

    • English as an Additional Language

    • First Language Chinese

    • World Literature

    • Music

โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹In addition, half of our students achieved the International Certificate of Education (ICE) with a pass or merit award, a recognition of breadth and depth across disciplines.

Behind each statistic are young people who have grown in clarity of thought, depth of questioning, and the confidence to apply knowledge with creativity. These results are evidence of learning as the construction of meaning and the development of character. These are qualities at the heart of our YCIS vision to nurture globally competent, compassionate individuals.

The success in subjects such as Chinese as a Foreign Language and First Language Chinese sits alongside outstanding results in Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts. Together, they reflect our YCIS mission to prepare students to thrive in two world languages and to bridge cultures with empathy and understanding.

Thank you, dear teachers, for shaping classrooms where learning is visible and purposeful. Thank you, dear parents, for the trust and encouragement that sustain our students. Thank you, YCIS Qingdao students, for showing us that learning is not only about knowledge and skills, but about becoming the kind of people who will contribute with courage and integrity to the world around them.

These achievements are not an endpoint, but a step forward—habits of learning and dispositions that our students will carry into the next stage of their journey.
