We are proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of the YCIS Qingdao Class of 2026, whose IB Diploma results reflect academic excellence, multilingual capability, and the well-rounded qualities that define an IB learner.

This year’s results highlight both exceptional individual achievement and consistently strong performance across the graduating class. With a top score of 44 points, one YCIS Qingdao student ranks among the top 2% of IB Diploma candidates worldwide, while 37.5% of graduates achieved 40 points or above—a remarkable accomplishment compared with approximately 4.7% globally.

The Class of 2026 achieved an average Diploma score of 35 points, more than four points above the global average of 30.6, demonstrating sustained academic excellence across the programme and reflecting both the rigour of the IB Diploma and the personalised learning experience at YCIS Qingdao.

More than a set of examination scores, IB results represent two years of intellectual curiosity, perseverance, critical thinking, and personal growth. They are a testament not only to the dedication of our students, but also to the expertise of our teachers and our shared commitment to delivering an exceptional international education.

Outstanding results were achieved across Mathematics, Sciences, Humanities, and Languages, with students earning multiple Level 7 scores in Higher Level Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics, alongside excellent performances in English, Chinese, Korean, Economics, Biology and Geography.

More than half (54%) of all subject grades were awarded at Level 6 or Level 7, underscoring excellence across the curriculum rather than in isolated subjects alone. Together, these achievements reflect the breadth, balance, and academic rigour that lie at the heart of the IB Diploma Programme.

This year, 37.5% of graduates were awarded the prestigious IB Bilingual Diploma.

The Bilingual Diploma reflects far more than language proficiency, it recognises students' ability to learn, think, and communicate confidently across languages and cultures, preparing them for success in an increasingly interconnected world.

*To earn the IB Bilingual Diploma, students must either complete two Language A courses in different languages, achieving a grade of 3 or above in each, or achieve a grade of 3 or above in one Language A course while studying a Group 3 (Individuals and Societies) or Group 4 (Sciences) subject in another language and also achieving a grade of 3 or above.

At YCIS Qingdao, academic achievement is only one measure of success.

The IB Diploma Programme places equal emphasis on developing compassionate, reflective and internationally minded young people who are prepared to make meaningful contributions to society.

This year, 100% of students successfully completed the Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS) programme, demonstrating their commitment to leadership, service, creativity and personal development beyond the classroom.

Students also delivered outstanding results in the IB Core. 75% achieved an A or B in Theory of Knowledge (TOK), demonstrating exceptional critical thinking and the ability to evaluate complex ideas from multiple perspectives. In the Extended Essay, 62.5% earned an A or B, reflecting the high standard of independent research, academic writing and intellectual inquiry expected of IB scholars.

Together, CAS, TOK and the Extended Essay develop far more than academic knowledge. They cultivate curiosity, resilience, ethical leadership and a global outlook—qualities that prepare students not only for success at leading universities, but for meaningful lives beyond them.

The Class of 2026 has demonstrated what can be achieved through determination, curiosity, and a commitment to lifelong learning.

Their success is a reflection not only of individual effort, but also of the collaborative partnership between students, teachers, and families that defines the YCIS Qingdao community.
