    • On Tuesday afternoon, March 20th, the Council of International Schools (CIS) annual China tour rolled into Yew Chung International School of Qingdao. Qingdao was its eighth Chinese city after stopping at Shanghai, Hangzhou and Guangzhou, among others. A large group of 28 universities included top-class research and liberal arts universities from the US, Canada, the UK and Europe. It was the largest university fair ever to be held at our school. The fair started off with a seminar on ‘Choosing the best-fit university,’ and was followed by individual interactions between students, parents and the university representatives. YCIS students from Years 10 and 12, as well as our Chinese teachers, did an excellent job acting as translators. Large groups of students from international and local schools, as well as a number of other visitors, also attended the event. Our own students made use of the opportunity to visit the various tables and find out for themselves more about universities, courses and the application process. The university reps were very happy to visit our school and see the large turnout. From Qingdao, the CIS tour moves on to Shenyang. Till next year!
