On May 18, Yew Chung International School of Qingdao celebrated Family Fun Day in a very different way to previous years: we hosted a fair with a “Summer Carnival” theme.

This fair was set up on the field of the Huangdao campus with a variety of fun stalls full of cultural artefacts – decorations, children’s toys, stuffed animals, books, handmade jewelry, and picture frames – and tasty food for sale.

Our YCIS families also enjoyed a flea market ran by our ECE students, a DYI area for our little ones and many energetic, active games for older children organised by our YCIS teachers.

Our families were entertained throughout the day by the fantastic music performances from our students, as well as professional guest piano and violin players.

This year’s event was attended by more than 500 people so it was a great opportunity for our school community to socialise, have a tasty bite to eat and chill out in the sun.
