    • On June 24th, YCIS Qingdao had a memorable end of the year award ceremony on campus. We celebrated the outstanding awards students have achieved in the past school year and had a warmly farewell party for year 13 students, who will start university worldwide.

The primary end of the year award ceremony started from the school choir performance Memories. In the 20-21 school year, despite the uncertainty of the pandemic, YCIS Qingdao community faced challenges, had a colourful school life and gained remarkable academic results.Year 6 students ended their primary life and will move up to secondary school. There will be much more to expect and to explore in the upcoming school year. We wish all year six students can enjoy their secondary life.

“It is continuing what you have already learned and extending that. It is about having more responsibility and self-control. It is about becoming who you want to be and where you want to go. Well done to all those who are moving up today.” YCIS Qingdao Western Co-Principal Mr Stephen O' Connor said in the Year 6 graduation speech.

This year, secondary students had a fruitful and memorable learning journey. They had various school events, such as Experiencing China and Service Learning Week, which had to be cancelled last year due to the pandemic. While their exploration of arts and technology also never stopped. What a productive year!

For Year 13 students, there is a graduation season. They have received various offers from prestigious universities, all around the world and have embarked on their next journey. YCYW education foundation CEO and School Supervisor Dr Betty Chan Po-king left a message for graduates: “I am sure you are all anxious and eager to leap into the future. Wherever you are, in all your pursuits, be curious and creative, be bold and intuitive, be confident and persistent. It is alright to be aggressive and assertive in attaining your goals, but remember, always be guided and grounded by integrity and compassion. This is how YCYW people differentiate and shine.”
