On Wednesday October 12, Yew Chung International School of Qingdao welcomed Yonsei University to its Huangdao campus. This was a unique occasion, being the first time a Korean university visited the school.
With a large Korean population in Qingdao, interest in the event was high. It even attracted Korean parents from local Chinese schools as well as from downtown Qingdao. Around 60 parents and students attended the hour and a half long afternoon session.
Professor Suh, from the Global Leadership Division of Yonsei, kicked things off by giving an hour long presentation on how to succeed in the Korean university admissions process.
This was followed by an open time for questions. Parents did not hold back, putting forward question after question about the Korean admissions process and requirements. Their concerns and queries were addressed in depth by Professor Suh and his team.
After the session, some parents held one-on-one conversations with the team. It was a beneficial time for them and helped to clarify the application process for Korean universities.
YCIS Qingdao is grateful to Professor Suh and his team for the visit, and looks forward to their next visit in the near future.
