YCIS Qingdao parents, alumni, staff, and school community supporters gathered at the 90th Anniversary Gala Night on 3 June to celebrate YCYW’s remarkable milestone, also bearing witness to the glory and achievements of the thriving YCIS Qingdao school community.

The evening commenced with a performance fusing Western jazz and Eastern Peking Opera. This was then followed by captivating performances by renowned artists and art groups from Qingdao, making a lasting impression to the audience with their remarkable talents.

The artistic mastery demonstrated by these performers, coupled with the passion, confidence, and vitality displayed by our YCIS students, deeply engaged the audience, evoking resounding applause and heartfelt cheers.

The highly anticipated live auction saw an unprecedented display of enthusiasm from the guests, who eagerly raised their paddles to bid, demonstrating their love and support for the school community. The generosity of YCIS parents and supporters was instrumental in the huge array of auction items available. Some of the auction items include unique opportunities such as "Principal for a day", "Exclusive lunch with one of the YCYW Education Directors", as well as offerings including Shanghai art summer camp, skiing course, handmade violin, and bespoke tailored suit.

The proceeds from the gala will contribute to the Seeds of Hope annual fund, empowering community service-learning projects and student-led initiatives that go beyond our regular curriculum. This fund allows us to cultivate and recognise student talent, while nurturing passionate, bold, and compassionate leaders of tomorrow. The impact of this fund extends not only to our students as they learn to take initiative and drive positive change but also resonates throughout the broader community.
